Diabetes is a disease that can be controlled with just a little effort, and it doesn't have to completely turn a person's life upside down. What may cause diabetes in boys and girls is not really fully understood, yet there are plenty of concepts as to the reasons young people get this problem. In diabetes, one's body manages to lose its capability to properly implement blood sugar as a possible energy provider, thus will change the body's capability to fight diseases.
There are two different types of diabetes, type 1 diabetes: results from the body's failure to produce insulin, and presently requires the person to inject insulin—it is most common in children. In Type 2, the symptoms takes longer to show up because the glucose levels rise slowly since the patients has some insulin in their systems.
It is quite common for patients to inject insulin to maintain normal value through their bodies, especially if one type of diabetes. The role of insulin would be to move glucose from the bloodstream into muscle, fat, and liver cells, where it could be used as fuel. Insulin is required by the body to aid the absorption of glucose so when the body fails to respond to insulin, blood glucose levels increase.
During the treatment of diabetes, the diabetic must regularly check their blood sugar levels as close to normal as possible, take medication and watch their diet. The aim is to control the total caloric intake not to lose normal body weight and glucose level.
